POSTAL SECURITY
The anthrax scare of 2001 prompted postal services around the globe to find new and better ways to protect workers and patrons against contaminated mail.
Since then Sceptor Industries has become one of the world’s most experienced providers of biohazard detection systems for postal security applications. The U.S. Postal Service, for example, has installed SpinCon® aerosol collection devices on sorting machines in every sorting center nationwide.
Versatility and Reliability
Mail handling and shipping organizations need security systems that won’t interfere with their tight delivery schedules. Our products are built to:
- Deliver high performance without contributing to false positives
- Work without slowing down mail processing operations
- Meet stringent quality standards to assure trouble-free performance
- Provide options for inline integration with mail and package-handling equipment
- Be adaptable to separate screening processes
Versatile, reliable, accurate, and unobtrusive, Sceptor products are perfectly adapted to the mail and shipping environment.
New Products, Custom Systems
Sceptor is also developing plans for hazardous mail workstations. These systems will allow the sorting of suspicious parcels or letters on a negative-pressure workbench, where they can be safely scanned with a wand attached to an OMNI™ 3000 air sampler. The resulting air samples can then be analyzed to detect the presence of biohazards or other potentially dangerous contents.
In addition, Sceptor is a major contractor for priority mail screening systems which screen envelopes sent to high-profile individuals or organizations.
Sceptor is ready to confer with all shipping and postal organizations on how to safeguard their operations against unknowingly handling or delivering hazardous packages.
